Old Thalos

Thalos, a once beautiful and pristine city situated halfway between Ralnoth
and the southern ocean on the Great Southern Road, now lays in waste.
Perhaps the dead who were horribly slaughtered may have been laid to rest
peacefully had the town not been overrun by the demonic hordes. Once known
as the city of glory, vampiric lamias and animated vines now roam the city
streets waiting to slay any foolish enough to enter.
Many uninhabited buildings still exist in Thalos, though none stands which
were not long ago pillaged by the invading hordes, or later by daring theves.
This does not mean that all the ruins are empty, as there are rumors of great
evil and treasures still lying untouched in the blasted landscape. Prominent
amongst the rumors are that deep within the desolate section of the city
remain most of lost splendors of Thalos' great theatre and art district.
Also, travellers on the nearby Southern Road occassionally report seeing
grayish forms moving within the watch towers at the edges of the city.
Eerily, the gates to the city still hang, with a sign reminding passerbys of
the former glory which was Thalos.
